Pets In the Classroom

Transform Classrooms.
Inspire Compassion.
One Pet at a Time.

Some classroom breakthroughs start with a wagging tail.

PSI is proud to support Pets in the Classroom and their mission to bring hands-on learning into schools nationwide.

Through our support of Dogs in the Classroom, therapy dog visits help students build confidence, reduce anxiety, and re-engage with learning.

We’re honored to help bring those moments to schools.

Classroom pets and therapy dogs help students grow in meaningful ways:

Social Growth: responsibility, cooperation, and stronger classroom communities
Emotional Growth: empathy, confidence, and reduced anxiety
Academic Growth: engagement, attendance, and curiosity-driven learning

Programs like Pets in the Classroom ensure students, especially those in Title I schools and classrooms serving students with disabilities, have access to these proven benefits.

Teachers across North America are seeing the difference a classroom pet makes — boosting attendance, building responsibility, and calming anxiety.

✅ 76% saw improved attendance
✅ 94% saw decreased anxiety
✅ 97% saw increased engagement

If you believe in creating compassionate and engaged classrooms, consider supporting this work.
