Location: Akron/Canton Area Schools
Schedule: School Hours | Guaranteed 6 Hours Per Day
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 35 miles to cover schools

School Nurse Role Snapshot

Provide nursing coverage across multiple schools as a Permanent Float Nurse

Serve public, private, and charter schools
-
Support school clinics when regular nurses are absent or when additional coverage is needed

Guaranteed 6 hours of pay per day

Your Impact as a Nurse in a PSI Supported School
As a School-Based Float Nurse, you help ensure students across multiple schools have access to safe and responsive healthcare during the school day.
Your work supports student wellness and helps maintain healthy learning environments where students can focus on learning.
What You’ll Do

Provide nursing care and health support to students in school settings

Administer medications and monitor student health needs

Assess and respond to illness or injury
-
Support communicable disease prevention and school health protocols

Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers
-
Maintain accurate health records and documentation
-
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines
What We’re Looking For

Active Ohio LPN License (Required)
-
Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards
-
Pediatric or school health experience preferred but not required
-
Basic knowledge of medication administration and communicable disease prevention
-
Current or willingness to obtain BLS or CPR/First Aid certification
