Begin your day by conducting culturally and linguistically appropriate assessments to evaluate students’ social, emotional, and academic needs.
Provide counseling in both English and the students’ native languages, addressing personal and academic challenges to support student success and wellbeing.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to develop comprehensive support plans. Your expertise will guide these plans to effectively address the identified needs of each student.
Contribute to the design and implementation of school-wide programs that promote mental health, academic achievement, and cultural inclusivity.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and communications to ensure compliance with ethical standards and school policies.
Utilize your bilingual skills to provide comprehensive psychological services that consider cultural and linguistic factors affecting student behavior and performance.
Develop and administer interventions that are sensitive to the unique needs of bilingual students and their families.
Advocate for and support the implementation of practices that are inclusive and responsive to the diverse backgrounds of the student population.
Engage families and community resources in supporting the educational and psychological development of students, enhancing home-school collaboration.
Pursue ongoing education and training to stay informed about best practices in bilingual education and psychology.
Advanced degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
Valid state licensure as a School Psychologist, with additional credentials in bilingual education or cross-cultural competence preferred.
Proficiency in English and at least one other language, with effective communication skills in both.
Experience working with bilingual or multicultural student populations, with a demonstrated understanding of cultural influences on learning and behavior.
Strong assessment and counseling skills, with the ability to tailor interventions to the cultural and linguistic needs of students.
