1. Family Roadmap:

This tool helps families of English Learners engage with schools and support their children’s education. It includes interactive handouts and videos to ensure parents understand the educational system and their child’s language development needs.

2. Instructional Roadmap:

Designed for educators, this provides evidence-based strategies for teaching English Learners, ensuring their academic and language growth. It includes guidance on co-teaching, sheltered instruction, and literacy development tailored to EL students.

3. Administrator’s Resource Kit:

This resource supports school administrators in creating and maintaining effective English Learner programs at the local level. It includes best practices for integrating EL support into the school’s overall curriculum.

The Importance of Screening and Support

Ohio schools are required to regularly assess the English proficiency of students through the Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA).
