A Day in the Life

Program Management

Start your day by reviewing the special education programs currently in place, assessing their effectiveness, and planning for improvements or new initiatives.

Staff Collaboration

Meet with special education teachers and support staff to discuss individual student progress, program updates, and professional development needs.

IEP Coordination

Oversee the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for students, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Parent Meetings

Conduct meetings with parents to discuss their child’s progress, address concerns, and collaborate on educational plans.

Compliance and Reporting

Ensure that the school’s special education practices comply with all regulatory requirements, and prepare reports for school administration and district officials.

Requirements

Educational Background

Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

Certification

Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in special education or educational administration.

Experience

Extensive experience in special education or a related educational field, with a proven track record in program management and staff leadership.

Skills
