ABOUT DR. POLAND

Currently Associate Director Of Academic Affairs at University School, a private Pre-K through 12thgrade school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Poland’s administrative experiences range from associate principal of a high school of 4,000 students to principal of a large middle school in the Houston, Texas area.

Dr. Poland is noted for engaging students, faculty and the community in developing and maintaining an effective crisis prevention and response strategy. Hers was the first school in Houston to partner with the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT), in which the school community engaged in extensive emergency prevention and response training. Further, her Victim’s Relief Counseling credentials provided opportunity to work with victims of Katrina and Rita as they relocated to greater Houston.
