PSI is pleased to partner with Dr. Kathy McNamara, Director of the School Psychology Program at Cleveland State University. PSI with CSU is conducting a year long research and training project to evaluate the effectiveness of the widely acclaimed Bullies to Buddies program developed by Israel Kalman.
Client schools served by PSI are invited to contact the PSI coordinator of this program, Karen McKelvey to learn how your school can participate in this exciting research and training program.
This program is different than other anti bullying programs in that it focuses on methods available to the victim to manage the bully. There will always be bullies. While system wide programs to minimize this anti-social behavior are critically important, they are not the only avenue available to attack this all too common and tragic problem. Empowering the victim and helping them learn how to not be baited by the bully can be one extremely effective way to stop the bully and to change the traditional culture which the bully exploits.
